Hibiscus - Rose of China

An original painting in acrylic on canvas panel of a hibiscus flower, 254mm x 305mm (8" x 10").

I painted this in 1998, from a photograph taken in a local tropical house. I love the shapes of the flowers and leaves, and the colours suggested a sort of sultry evening which gave me the idea for the palette that I used.
